Peter and Polly Readers/Google Books

There is no mention of grade, but I think it may be advanced second grade, early third. These books are free to read online, download, or print(right click on image of page). Pages are printable as long as you have them set on HTML(bottom of Google Book pages). I've linked the pages defaulted to HTML. The standard mode allows scrolling through the pages, but excludes printable pages.

Google Books Blocking Download Helpers

If you are using a download helper for downloading books at Google Books, you may receive a temporary ban(24 hours) from downloading. Spidering is against the terms of service, and download helpers appear to trigger blocking. I'll be taking down the link for the free download helper. It's a shame because this was a very handy way for me to download books a little at a time with my slow connection.

The Scottish Chiefs/Google Books

First published in England in 1809, The Scottish Chiefs became enormously popular throughout all of Europe.  This sweeping epic depicts the 1296-1305 rebellion of the Scots against the tyrannical King Edward, a rebellion led by the gallant Sir William Wallace, Edward's "equal in all things but crown and his superior in being true to unblemished honor."  The heroic adventures of Wallace as he fights to return the throne of Scotland and restore peace to his homeland will enthrall a new generation of readers. ~ Lamp Post Books(Beautiful Feet Books)

Hero Tales from History

Book overview provided by Google Books:
"Here are mighty men of the world and makers of modern American. Some of the men chosen as the heroes of these stories were great figures in world history and were selected because they are among the foremost heroes of our own country and our own culture. Hero Tales from History are told with the thought of the mental development of the children. Each story has a hero, full of action and written in a clear and simple language. The history of the past can never become a vital thing to us or to those whom we teach until the men of the past are live, flesh and blood men."

Changes at Google Books

Today I noticed a whole new screen when I clicked into specific Google Books. There is no longer a button on the sidebar for HTML. I did find it on the bottom of the main page for Google Books. So now if you want to print off a few pages or images, you need to go to the Google Main Menu page and click at the bottom to HTML mode. This is the only way to copy and save images of specific pages to your computer. Entire books can still be downloaded to a PDF, and plain text is still available at the book links.

Or copy and paste: http://books.google.com/books?output=html into your browser.

Clickable link to go directly to Google Books in HTML mode.
